How long should you keep using recovery cream?

Barrier-repair creams matter most while the skin rebuilds — usually one to four weeks depending on the procedure.

Recovery creams support the skin barrier while it rebuilds after lasers, peels, and needling treatments. The useful window is the rebuilding phase itself, which runs roughly one to four weeks depending on how deep the procedure worked.

Using it well, then stepping down

During the recovery window the cream typically replaces heavier actives: retinoids, exfoliating acids, and strong brightening agents wait until the barrier feels settled. Once dryness, tightness, and flaking subside, the routine can transition back step by step.

How long the cream stays useful varies with procedure depth and individual skin, so the clinic’s suggested duration is the anchor. If stinging or new bumps appear while using any product on treated skin, pausing it and consulting the clinic comes first.
