Nasolabial Folds: Filler or Lifting?

When volume loss leads, filler is discussed; when skin sagging leads, a lifting approach is — so identifying the cause comes first.

Nasolabial folds can deepen from more than one cause, which is why there is no single answer between filler and lifting. Whether the main driver is lost volume in the mid-face or sagging, loosened skin points the decision in different directions.

The choice follows the cause

If the fold comes mainly from volume loss and a descending mid-face, filler support is often discussed to restore the underlying cushion. If loose, lax skin is the bigger factor, energy-based lifting or thread approaches tend to enter the conversation instead.

Most faces mix these causes to different degrees, and the balance varies from person to person. Which approach — or combination — suits you is best judged when you consult a specialist who can weigh volume against laxity.
