The worry should change the technique, not the plan
When the technologist knows an implant is present, compression is moderated and displacement views shift the device back before pressure is applied. Older devices with long service years get extra care, which is one more reason to state implant age at check-in.
Skipping breast screening to protect the device trades a small, managed risk for a larger one. Anxiety levels and device histories differ between individuals, so raising the concern in a consult — and letting a specialist confirm the device can be imaged as usual — is the balanced route.
