When Is Weight Training Allowed Again After Breast Augmentation?

Lower-body machines often reopen within weeks, but loaded upper-body work generally waits about six weeks and restarts light.

Lifting is not a single switch that flips back on. Squat patterns and leg machines that keep the chest quiet usually return earlier, while rows, presses and overhead lifts that recruit the pectoral muscles are held back longest — especially when the implant sits under the muscle.

Load the chest last, and lightly

A common sequence is walking first, lower-body machines from around weeks three to four, and upper-body resistance near the six-week mark with roughly half the previous weight. How fast each step arrives varies with implant placement, tissue quality and how the incisions are closing.

Early heavy pressing can strain healing tissue and pull on incisions, so progress in small jumps and stop on pain. Ask the specialist who operated to sign off on your split before returning to a full program.
